Raindance Farm - Certified Organic Beef
Our cows have enjoyed being outdoors grazing grass on deliberately managed pastures since 1989. We believe grass based farming is an environmentally friendly way to produce meat in our ecosystem. Research such as that presented on Jo Robinson's web site or from the Weston A. Price Foundation has lead us to believe that the meat is healthier raised this way with higher levels of omega 3 relative to 6 and higher CLA percentages than found in meat from feedlots. (What is CLA?) All our certified organic meats are processed at a butcher we trust, family owned Leona Meats in Troy, PA. Our Certified Organic product list includes the following lean grass-fed meats:
- Ground beef -- great for pasta sauce
- Tenderloin morsels -- small quarter pound chunks for singles
- Minute steaks -- for Philly steak or stir fry
- Hot dogs -- low fat, no nitrates. Made with meat
- Smoked Chorizo sausage -- spicy with chili pepper
- Smoked Andouille sausage -- with cumin for jambalaya, soups or gumbo
- Smoked Ring bologna -- ready to eat with black pepper
Non-certified Organic Meats
Due to popular demand we offer organic beef and veal which is processed locally at a much closer butcher. Due to the lower transportation costs the price is less but the meat does not have the USDA organic seal. Although the animals have only received organic care and feeds for the past twelve years we by law cannot label it organic.- Ground beef
