Raindance Farm - Rose Veal
Rose Veal - Let's bust a few myths!
Myth: Veal in the store is whitish because it is fed real milk
Our suckled veal, known as Veau Sous La Mere in France, roam pastures and live on cows milk almost exclusively. Then why is the meat not whitish like the veal in the store? Well I have a surprise for you. The veal you see in the store is not whitish because it is fed milk but is pale because confinement veal are fed an anemic "formula" with virtually no iron. Ironically, mass produced "white" veal is fed virtually NO real milk! Our suckled veal have their milk bar (cow's udder) available to them 24/7 and I have never heard their voices because well fed bovines do not moo. They are simply content. This stress free environment of fresh air, clean grass to curl up on plus unlimited milk makes our rose veal guaranteed tender and most unusually flavorful.
Myth: Veal animals must be tied up so they cannot run around or else the meat will get tough
In the process of raising veal in a natural way we have dispelled this myth. Our veal calves run around whenever they feel like it and the meat is flavorful and very tender. Our pastured veal are raised far more humanely than the factory farm pork or chicken available in most stores. Please do not choose pork, chicken, or eggs from animals that never even see the light of day. Vote with your consumer dollar for pasture based farms where animals get out in the sun.
